Qualcomm is experiencing tremendous success, in the smartphone and tablet segment. Qualcomm’s CES 2015 Announcements
Qualcomm’s subsidiary, Qualcomm Life, Inc., recently announced its collaboration with Walgreens at the CES 2015. The objective is to power device connectivity with Walgreens mobile and web applications, enabled with medical device connectivity and care coordination capabilities. Qualcomm is the connectivity backbone of the connected health ecosystem, which includes more than 500 organizations as of now.
The CES 2015 also included a demonstration on stage of LIFX light that allows the transformation of an LED light into a connected light – featuring a plug-in module. Qualcomm representatives at the event mentioned that the company was focused on supporting EFX multi-input/multi-output (MU-MIMO) Wi-Fi technology for connecting devices and apps throughout homes and offices.
The surprise package was when Qualcomm displayed a concept car based on a 2015 Cadillac XTS, introducing connecting technologies from smartphones, tablets and gaming consoles. The Android-based car featured HD displays LTE connectivity for multimedia, gesture and voice recognition, multiple safety features including collision detection, lane detection and so on.
