Executive Summary
The client is a leading technology enterprise operating in the fields of optics and optoelectronics. They had developed an ophthalmology equipment that can scan the retina image of the patient and a desktop-based software application that associates the patient data to the scanned image and generates reports based on scanned images.
Client wanted to develop a cloud-based service that provides variety of iris recognition functions including enrollment, diagnosis, verification, identification, and de-duplication remotely for patients, doctors, and enterprise service providers.
eInfochips developed Microsoft Azure based IoT platform involving device, cloud and web app that allows the patient to scan their eyes remotely. Patients can scan their eyes using the device and each scan is uploaded to the cloud to be later reviewed by clinician/doctors. Based on the diagnosis, the doctor may ask patient to visit the clinic for medication. The remote diagnostic helps users save 15 to 40 percent of additional Medicare Fees for Service (FFS) cost for the eyecare.
