Design & Development of an In-Flight Entertainment System

Executive Summary

The client, a French conglomerate and a leader in developing in-flight entertainment (IFE) solutions was planning to launch its next-gen in-flight entertainment system, comprising of an in-seat display unit, handheld passenger entertainment and media based on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon platform. The system requirements comprised of multiple components, including touchscreen, storage, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth, camera, USB, HDMI, and content management software.

The client was looking for a partner with experience in both hardware and software development, including Qualcomm Snapdragon platform, Android, and Linux development. The client wanted the development partner to help in the entire product development cycle, right from bring-up, firmware development, integration to production testing and sustenance, including hardware and software defect analysis resolution and feature enhancement.
