Executive Summary
The client is a leading semiconductor designer and manufacturer headquartered in the Netherlands. To capitalize on the growing opportunities in Energy Storage Systems (ESS) solutions, they sought a strategic engineering partner to take end-to-end ownership of developing a high-voltage Battery Management System (BMS) Reference platform.
eInfochips, with the help of its dedicated BMS Centre of Excellence (CoE) and in-depth expertise, redesigned the client’s automotive 800V HV-BMS. This led to the development of a 1500V BMS reference platform, suitable for various high-voltage battery management applications such as utility, commercial, industrial, and residential energy storage.
eInfochips delivered a complete solution including system concept, hardware board design for BMU/CMU/BJB, embedded/firmware development, SIL 2 functional safety assessment, safety documentation and pre-compliance, and certification testing for safety standards and regulations such as IEC 61508, IEC 60730, UL 9540, and UL1973.
