Executive Summary
The client is a US-based global leader in controls and automation, providing rugged solutions for industrial, mining, and mobile equipment markets. To address challenges in three key product areas — remote control systems, machine control units (MCUs), and telematics devices — the client was looking for a design partner to help modernize their legacy systems and improve performance, reliability, and safety.
eInfochips delivered end-to-end solutions from component selection to redesign legacy systems. eInfochips managed cost optimization, Bill of Material (BOM) scrubbing, and obsolescence management while providing hardware and firmware design, testing, cybersecurity, functional safety, and certification. The solutions included migrating remote control systems to a new platform with enhanced features, developing a safety-compliant machine control unit (MCU) with high reliability, and optimizing a telematics device app for better usability and connectivity.
Through this collaboration, eInfochips enabled the client to achieve significant improvements, including a seamless communication range of up to 300 meters for the remote-control device, a 20% reduction in machine control unit (MCU) development time, and a 50% faster connection between the mobile app and telematics device.
