The Intelligent Power Control SoC Framework is an engineering platform designed to address the needs of the automotive and industrial semiconductor design.
Structured around a 6-channel mixed-signal implementation, the framework integrates power-stage control, sensing, diagnostics, protection, and programmable RISC-V-based supervision. It provides the engineering teams at eInfochips with a practical environment in which to develop, validate, and demonstrate the expertise necessary to support customers across complex, application-specific semiconductor programs.
The framework has been implemented on the GlobalFoundries’ GF130BCD process, providing a silicon-backed foundation for automotive and industrial mixed-signal ASIC development.
The framework can also be offered as a customized IP or as a ready-to-use reusable AMS subsystem component within the customer’s chip-development programs.
The SoC Framework combines several control and monitoring functions within one mixed-signal architecture, enabling customers to simplify the surrounding circuitry while achieving greater monitoring capability, system protection, and programmability.
Key system-level benefits:
The Intelligent Power Switching SoC Framework enhances our company’s ability to support semiconductor OEMs and system companies across the following engineering disciplines:
The objective of this framework is to establish engineering readiness, validate design capability, and reduce the execution risk on customer-specific chip programs.
The framework demonstrates engineering capability across the silicon lifecycle:
Architecture → Analog and Mixed-Signal Design → Digital and Embedded Integration → Verification → Physical Design → Tape-out → Packaging Coordination → Silicon Bring-up
This experience enables eInfochips to work with customers at various stages, from the selected engineering workstreams to complete the turnkey ASIC development.
It is an engineering platform designed for high-end automotive and industrial application with framework support for analog mixed-signal design, SoC verification, physical design sign-off and hardware-software co-verification as well as a silicon debug.
Target applications include motor drives, electric power steering, advanced cooling fans, water pumps, and industrial power-control systems.
It demonstrates a multi-channel analog processing, digital sub-system using the RISC-V working with an automated flow from the architecture to GDSII ensuring reduced time-to-markettime, silicon-proven sub-systems, and providing a ready-to-use framework.
The device is designed for 12V, 24V, and 48V system architectures.
How can customers engage with eInfochips?
Customers may engage eInfochips for targeted semiconductor engineering services or for end-to-end development of application-specific ASICs.
The framework supports current, voltage, output-voltage, and temperature measurement, along with configurable diagnostic and supervision functions.
The program provides an engineering foundation that can be adapted for customer-specific motor-control and power-control ASIC developments, depending on the application requirements.
